年金生活者になりました。　I became a pensioner.

4月になりました。
新しい年度の始まりですね。

私は3/末で企業を卒業して年金生活者になりました。
と言っても実際に年金をもらえるのは8月からです。

年金を受給できるのは年度毎ではなく、自分の誕生日が基準になります。

年金を受給するためには年金事務所での手続きが必要です。

誕生日の1日前から年金事務所での手続きが可能になります。

私は6月生まれなので、誕生日の前日に年金事務所に行って手続きをすると、2カ月後の8月中旬辺りに年金を受け取ることができます。

年金は2カ月に一度支給されるようです。

従って冒頭で「年金生活者になりました。」と言いましたが、実際は6月からのことです。

年金事務所での手続きは大変込み合っているようで、電話しても直ぐには予約が取れないようです。

手続き予定日の1カ月前から予約ができるので、早めに年金事務所に連絡して手続きに行く日を予約ましょう。

また65歳の誕生日の半年ほど前に、年金事務所からはがきが届きます。

その内容は65歳になったら年金を受給する否かを問われるものです。

65歳から年金を受給しようと考えている人は、そのはがきに受給する旨を記載して送り返してください。

その後は前筆の通り年金事務所に連絡して予約を取って下さい。

年金の受給を受けない場合は、そのはがきを無視して大丈夫です。

ここで私の体験上一つ注意点があります。

私の勤めていた会社は、65歳になったら次の3月末が定年退職日となります。

私の場合は1959年生まれなので、昨年の6月で65歳になりました。

そのため今年の3月末が定年退職日となる訳ですが、私の勝手な思い込みで手続きをすれば4月から年金を受給できるだろうと考えていました。

そこで今年の2月に、4月から年金を受給するための手続きをする予約電話を入れました。

しかし帰ってきた答えは、「66歳から年金を受給するための手続きを誕生日の1カ月前からできるので予約して下さい。」とのことでした。

つまり前筆の通り4月から年金を受給することはできませんでした。

仮に昨年年金事務所に行って、「65歳11カ月目から年金を受給する。」手続きをしたら今年の4月から年金を受給できたかも知れませんが、上記については今年の誕生日の前日に年金事務所に行って手続きをするのでその時に確認したいと思います。

その内容については、後日報告をします。

私の場合はたまたま誕生日が6月だったので良かったのですが、誕生日が10月だとすると年金の受給が年末になってしまいますので注意して下さい。

先ずは年金事務所から連絡が来たら、少なくても電話で確認することをお勧めします。

I left my company at the end of March and became a pensioner.

That said, I won’t actually start receiving my pension until August.

You can receive your pension not each fiscal year, but based on your birthday.

To receive your pension, you must complete a procedure at the pension office.

You can begin the procedure at the pension office from one day before your birthday.

I was born in June, so if I go to the pension office the day before my birthday and complete the procedure, I will be able to receive my pension two months later, around mid-August.

The pension is paid every two months.

So although I said at the beginning that I have become a pensioner, this actually only started in June.

It seems that the pension office is very busy with procedures, and even if you call, it seems that you cannot get an appointment immediately.

Reservations can be made one month before the planned date of the procedure, so be sure to contact the pension office early to reserve the day you wish to go in for the procedure.

You will also receive a postcard from the pension office about six months before your 65th birthday.

The question asks whether or not you will receive a pension when you turn 65.

If you are planning to start receiving your pension from age 65, please write that you will be receiving the pension on the postcard and send it back.

After that, please contact the pension office as mentioned above and make an appointment.

If you are not receiving a pension, you can ignore the postcard.

Here’s a note from my experience.

At the company where I worked, when I turned 65, my retirement date was the end of the following March.

In my case, I was born in 1959, so I turned 65 last June.

Therefore, my retirement date will be the end of March this year, but I had mistakenly thought that if I went through the necessary procedures, I would be able to receive my pension from April.

So in February of this year, I made a reservation by phone to make the arrangements to receive my pension starting in April.

However, the answer I received was, “You can complete the procedures to receive your pension from age 66 starting one month before your birthday, so please make a reservation.”

In other words, as mentioned above, I was not able to receive my pension from April.

If I had gone to the pension office last year and completed the procedure to “start receiving pension from age 65 and 11 months,” I might have been able to start receiving pension from April of this year, but I will be going to the pension office the day before my birthday this year to complete the procedure, so I will check the above at that time.

I will report on the details at a later date.

In my case, my birthday happened to be in June, so I was lucky, but if your birthday is in October, you will not be able to receive your pension until the end of the year, so be careful.

First of all, if you receive a call from the pension office, I recommend that you at least confirm the details by phone.
