定年退職して以来のんびりしていましたが、お仕事再開しました。　I’ve been taking it easy since I retired, but I’ve started working again.

今年の3月末で40年近く勤めていた会社を定年退職して以来、半年近く自由な人生を謳歌していましたが、10月中旬から再び仕事をすることにしました。

もともと週に3日くらいは働こうと思っていましたが、当初予定していた仕事のオファーがなかなか来なかったので、暫くは気ままにブロガーやYoutuberをしようと思っていました。

ところが自由な時間が増えたにもかかわらず、ブログの記事やYoutube動画の作成は進みませんでした。

それどころか、スランプに陥ってしまいました。

今思うと4月から10月までの半年間は、ほとんど収入がなく出費だけでした。

年金は9月からやっと貰えました。

やはり資産を食いつぶすだけの生活は、心のどこかで不安だったのだと思います。

全く働けない訳ではないので、オファーが来るまでは当初予定していた仕事とは違う仕事をしようと思い、新たな仕事を探すことにしました。

そして新たな仕事が決まりかけた矢先に、当初予定していた仕事のオファーが着たので、仕事を再開した訳です。

もともと仕事を再開するするにしても、3カ月はインターバルを取ろうと思っていましたが、インターバル期間は2倍になってしまいました。

しかしその延びた3カ月間は決して無駄ではなかったなと感じます。

とても勉強になりました。

やはり働けるうちは頑張って働こうと思いました。

Youtuberやブロガーとして収益化できれば一番良いのですが、それまでは自分にできるお仕事を頑張ろうと思います。

年金以外の収入源があると気持ち的にも楽だし安定します。

今年66歳になりましたが、あと十年くらいは頑張りたいと思います。

と言うよりは生涯現役で頑張ります。

Since retiring at the end of March this year, after nearly 40 years at the same company, I’ve been enjoying a leisurely life.

But from mid-October, I’ve decided to start working again.

Originally, I planned to work about three days a week.

However, the job offer I was expecting didn’t come through right away, so I thought I’d spend some time as a casual blogger and YouTuber.

Oddly enough, even with more free time, I struggled to create blog posts and YouTube videos. I hit a slump.

Looking back, the six months from April to October were mostly filled with expenses and little income.

I finally started receiving my pension in September.

Still, living off my savings alone made me feel uneasy deep down.

Since I’m still capable of working, I decided to look for a different job until the original offer came through.

Just as I was about to start a new job, the offer I had been waiting for finally arrived — and so I resumed working.

I had intended to take a three-month break before returning to work, but it ended up being twice that.

Still, those extra months weren’t wasted. I learned a lot.

Now I feel strongly that I should keep working while I still can.

Of course, it would be ideal to earn income as a YouTuber or blogger, but until then, I’ll focus on the work I can do.

Having income beyond my pension brings peace of mind and stability.

I turned 66 this year, and I hope to keep going for another ten years — or rather, I aim to stay active for life.
