もう2月になってしまいました。
時が経つのは本当に早いものですね。

1） 2月は「如月（きさらぎ）」と昔から言われていますが、その語源は以下だそうです。
•衣更着（きさらぎ）：寒さが厳しく、衣をさらに重ねる季節
• 気更来（きさらぎ）：春の気が少しずつやってくる
• 生更木（きさらぎ）：草木が芽吹き始める

2）2月と言えば「節分」ですね。
2月は旧暦のお正月で、「節分」は「季節を分ける日」として、昔は 邪気が入りやすい日 とされていました。
そのため「豆まき」をして邪気を追い払ったそうです。
豆は「魔（ま）を滅（め）する」＝魔滅（まめ）としてまかれ、鬼（冬の象徴）を追い出して、福（春の象徴）を招き入れるための行事として定着したようです。

3）2月は「逃げ月」と言われるそうです。
昔から「1月は行く、2月は逃げる、3月は去る」と言われ、2月は特にあっという間に過ぎるとされてきました。
• 日数が少ない
• 年度末が近づき慌ただしい
• 冬から春への移行で体感の変化が激しい
などの原因から「逃げ月」なのかなと感じます

4）金融アノマリー
2月は株式市場が弱くなりやすい（アノマリー）が投資家にはあるそうです。
企業の決算発表が多く、相場が荒れやすいことも原因のひとつかなと思います。
また、米国では「2月は年間で最もリターンが低い月」と言われているようなので、投資をしている人は大人しくしているのが良さそうです。

5）2月のイベント
・房総半島の佐久間ダム湖「水仙まつり」開催中。（2025.12月～）→関連動画

最後に2月は、1年で最も寒い時期なので、朝晩の寒暖差が大きいので体調を崩さないように注意して下さいね。

1) “Kisaragi” – The Old Name for February
In Japan, February has long been called “Kisaragi.”
There are several theories about its origin:
• 衣更着 (Kisaragi) – “Adding more layers,” because the cold is at its peak
• 気更来 (Kisaragi) – “The coming of new energy,” as spring slowly approaches
• 生更木 (Kisaragi) – “New life emerging,” as plants begin to sprout
Each explanation beautifully reflects February’s role as the bridge between winter and spring.

2) February Means Setsubun
February also brings Setsubun, the traditional day that marks the division of seasons.
In the old calendar, this was considered a time when evil spirits could enter the home.
To drive them away, people threw roasted soybeans—
“mame” (beans) = “ma” (evil) + “metsu” (to destroy).
The ritual symbolizes driving out oni (winter) and welcoming fuku (spring).

3) February, the “Fleeting Month”
There’s an old saying in Japan:
“January goes, February flees, March departs.”
February is known as the month that disappears in the blink of an eye.
• It has fewer days
• The end of the fiscal year is approaching
• The shift from winter to spring makes time feel faster
No wonder it’s called the “fleeing month.”

4) A Financial Anomaly
There’s also a well‑known market anomaly:
February tends to be a weak month for stocks.
With many companies announcing earnings, the market often becomes volatile.
In the U.S., February is even said to have the lowest average returns of the year.
For investors, it might be a good month to stay calm and patient.
