さくらは慢性的に鼻の調子が悪くなりました。
そして今回は口呼吸をするようになったので、自宅でもできることはないか調べてみました。
そして二つのことを実行することにしました。
①ネブライザーによる治療
②鼻の詰まりを防止するマッサージ
YouTubeやブログで「猫の鼻詰まり解消」で検索すると真っ先に出てくるのが、ネブライザーによる治療でした。
ネブライザーによる治療は耳鼻咽喉科などでよく見かける治療方法です。
霧状に噴霧した薬を鼻やのどに吸い込んで治療する方法です。
直接詰まっている鼻に薬を吸わせる方法は効果が有りそうだったので、早速「ネブライザー家庭用吸入器」を購入することにしました。
注意点としては、猫の場合直接鼻に当てるのは難しいので、透明の箱に入れてネブライザーで薬を注入します。
今回は家に有った衣装ケースを使いました。
衣装ケースの蓋に穴を開けてネブライザーにホースを付けて薬を注入しました。
二つ目の注意点はこの時期暑いので、衣装ケース内が暑くならないよう保冷材などで外側から冷やすことです。
特に暴れたりすると体温も上がるので要注意です。
そしてネブライザーを注文してから家に着くまでの間、鼻の詰まりを抑えるツボのマッサージをしました。
この方法はYouTubeで一つだけ紹介されており、全く期待していませんでした。
少しでも呼吸が楽になれば良いなと思い、心を込めて1日半ほど続けた結果…
まあなんて言うことでしょう…
結果は1日程で出て、鼻はほぼすっきり通りました。
正直びっくりしました。
自然治癒力って凄いんだなと改めて感じました。
その後鼻の詰まりはほとんど解消しましたが、再発や慢性化を抑えるために、とことこ動物病院で薬を処方して頂いてネブライザー治療を続けています。
ネブライザー治療を始めて2日目ですが、鼻の調子は良好です。
後はご飯をたくさん食べてくれると良いのですけどね。

The first thing that came up when I searched for “relief of nasal congestion in cats” on YouTube and blogs was treatment with a nebulizer.
Treatment with a nebulizer is a common treatment method in otolaryngology.
This is a method of treatment by inhaling a mist of medicine into the nose and throat.
The method of inhaling the medicine directly into the clogged nose seemed to be effective, so I decided to purchase a “nebulizer home inhaler” immediately.
As a point of caution, it is difficult to apply the medicine directly to the nose of cats, so put it in a transparent box and inject the medicine with a nebulizer.
This time I used a costume case I had at home.
I made a hole in the lid of the costume case and attached a hose to the nebulizer to inject the medicine.
The second thing to note is that it’s hot this time of year, so it’s best to cool it from the outside with a cold insulator so that the inside of the costume case doesn’t get hot.
Be especially careful as the cat’s body temperature will rise if it gets violent.
After ordering the nebulizer and before we got home, I gave Sakura a pressure point massage to help ease her nasal congestion.
This method was introduced only onesite on YouTube, and I did not expect it at all.
I thought it would be nice if Sakura could breathe easier, so I gave her a heartfelt massage for about a day and a half…
What can I say…
The results came out in one day, and Sakura’s nose was almost cleared.
I was honestly surprised.
I once again felt that natural healing power is amazing.
Since then, most of her nasal congestion has been resolved, but in order to prevent recurrence and chronicity of Sakura’s nasal congestion, Tokotoko Animal Hospital prescribed medicine and continues nebulizer treatment.
It’s the second day of Sakura’s nebulizer treatment and her nose is doing well.
It would be nice if Sakura would eat a lot of rice afterwards.
