秋ちゃん復活しました！　Aki-chan has regained her health!

秋の喘息が再発するのではないかと心配していましたが、危惧していた咳は全くでなくなりました。

秋が咳をする度に目を覚ましたりしてとても心配でしたが、今はそのことで目が覚めることはなくなったので安心しました。

秋はとことこ動物病院で処方されたステロイドを約3週間服薬しました。

ステロイドを服薬してから直ぐの1週間は秋の咳が半減しました。

その次の週は秋の咳が少なくなったものの完全に治まることはなかったので、今後もステロイドを飲み続けなければいけないのかなと落胆していました。

しかし3週間経つと秋の咳は全く出なくなりました。

そしてまた秋が咳をするようになったら動物病院でステロイドを処方してもらおうと思い、秋の経過を観察していました。

ところがそのことがあってから更に1カ月程経った現在、秋はとても元気で咳も出ないので私はとても喜んでいます。

思い起こせば秋が咳をしだした頃は、毛繕いした毛が咳の原因だと考えていました。

それが咳の原因だとすれば、秋の咳は直ぐに治まるだろうと簡単に考えました。

しかし秋の咳がなかなか治らなかったので動物病院で診察してもらった結果、喘息だと診断されたのでとてもショックでした。

秋の咳を1カ月以上放置してしまったことに後悔した訳です。

秋はたまたま治ったから良かったのですが、私たちの家族同然のペットの病気を見逃さないように注意したいものですね。

We were worried that Aki’s asthma would return, but the feared coughing has completely disappeared.

I used to wake up every time Aki coughed and it worried me, but now I’m relieved that I no longer wake up because of it.

Aki took the steroids prescribed by Tocotoco Animal Hospital for about three weeks.

After Aki started taking the steroids, her coughing was reduced by half within a week.

Over the next week, Aki’s coughing lessened but never went away, so we were feeling disheartened that she would have to continue taking steroids.

However, after three weeks, Aki’s coughing had completely disappeared.

I continued to monitor Aki’s progress, hoping that if she started coughing again I would ask the vet to prescribe steroids.

Now, about a month has passed since that incident, and Aki is in great spirits and no longer coughing, which makes me very happy.

Looking back, when Aki first started coughing, I thought that the fur she was grooming was getting stuck in her throat and that was the cause of the cough.

I simply thought that if that was the cause of the cough, Aki’s cough would go away soon.

However, Aki’s cough did not improve, so we took him to the vet, where we were shocked to learn that he had asthma.

We regretted having left Aki’s cough untreated for over a month.

Fortunately, Aki managed to recover, but we need to be careful not to overlook illnesses in pets who are like family to us.
