今でも杏はキッチンカウンターの上で朝ごはんを持っています。　Even now Anne has her breakfast on the kitchen counter.

家の猫は朝ごはんの時間になると、キッチンカウンターの上で並んで待っています。
When it’s breakfast time, my cats line up on the kitchen counter waiting for breakfast.

数年前まではその光景を毎朝見ることができました。
Until a few years ago, we could see this sight every morning.

キッチンカウンターの上には電気ポットと炊飯器があり、その上は暖かいので人気の待機場所でした。
There was an electric kettle and a rice cooker on the kitchen counter, and since it was warm above them it was a popular waiting spot.

電気ポットの上はいつも凜が陣取っていましたが、時々その頃オチビだった杏が座ってしまうので、凜の悩みの種でした。
Rin always sat on top of the electric kettle, but sometimes Anne, who was still young at the time, would sit there too, which was a source of annoyance for Rin.

また、ひめとさくらの姉妹は行儀良くカウンターの袖に並んでいましたが、時々その最前列に杏が割り込みました。
Also, sisters Hime and Sakura were lined up neatly at the side of the counter, but from time to time young Anne would squeeze in and sit at the front of them.

しかしひめとさくらは寛大なので、オチビの杏の好きにさせていました。
However, Hime and Sakura were generous and allowed little Anne to do as she pleased.

そして現在は杏だけになってしまったので、あの日の光景を時々思い出すと、懐かしさと寂しさで複雑な気分になります。
Now that Anne is the only one left, when we sometimes recall the scene from that day, our hearts swell with nostalgia and loneliness.

思い返すと、ひめとさくらの姉妹、凜と杏がいる何気ない日常的な風景に私達は癒されていたんだなと強く感じます。
Looking back, We strongly feel that we were soothed by the casual, everyday scenes with sisters Hime and Sakura, and Rin and Anne.
