海ちゃんの顔が黄色くなってしまいました。　Umi-chan’s face has turned yellow.

花束を頂いたので寝室に飾ることにしました。

我家では花を飾ると猫が食べたり遊んだりするので、花を買うことはないのですが、たまたま頂いたので寝室に飾りました。

2～3日猫が花を食べてり遊んだ入りしないか注意深く監視していたのですが、以前のように関心を示さないようなので安心していました。

ところが1週間程経ったある朝、海ちゃんの顔が茶色く汚れていたので拭き取ったら、顔が黄色になってしまいました。

原因は花束の中にある百合の花が開花して、その花に顔を海ちゃんが突っ込んだため、その濃いオレンジ色の花粉が顔にたくさん付いたようです。

そうとは知らずに慌てて海ちゃんの顔をウエットティッシュで拭いたため、黄色い色素が海ちゃんの白い毛の部分に付着してしまったようです。

もちろん黒い毛の部分にも百合の花粉の色素が付着していると思いますが、海ちゃんの顔の白い毛の一部が黄色になったように見えます。

最初に百合の花の花粉だと気が付いていたら、刷毛で払うなどドライな方法で対処していたと思いますが、最初に見た時吐き戻したものが顔に付いているように見えたので、ウエットティッシュで拭いたわけです。

The cause was that a lily flower in the bouquet bloomed and Umi stuck her face into the flower, causing a lot of bright orange pollen to get on her face.

Without realizing this, I hastily wiped Umi-chan’s face with a wet tissue, and the yellow pigment ended up on Umi-chan’s white fur.

Of course, I’m sure the lily pollen pigments are also on the black fur, but it looks like some of the white fur on Umi-chan’s face has turned yellow.

If I had first realized that it was lily pollen, I probably would have dealt with it using a dry method such as brushing it off, but when I first saw it, it looked like it was something that had been vomited up, so I wiped it off with a wet tissue.
