琵琶湖の北側の畔で猫に会いました。　I met a cat on the north shore of Lake Biwa.

琵琶湖（滋賀県長浜市）の畔に人懐こい子猫がいました。

産まれて半年ほどのその子猫は何事にも興味津々のようで、私の持っていたInsta360に猫パンチをしてきました。

毛並みと汚れ具合から野良猫ではなく、近所で飼われている猫のようです。

この辺りでは車の交通量も少ないので、外で飼っているのでしょうね。

私も一昔前までは猫を外に出して家の内外を行き来させるのは一般的だと思っていました。

しかし今は千葉市のマンション住んでいるので、猫の出入りま難しそうです。

また仮に一戸建てに住んでいたとしても、千葉市は交通量が多いので猫を外に出して家の内外を行き来させるのは怖くてできません。

そう考えるとのどかな場所に住んで、猫を外に出して家の内外を行き来させる方が猫にとっては幸せかもしれないなと感じました。

There was a friendly kitten on the shores of Lake Biwa (Nagahama City, Shiga Prefecture).

The kitten, who was about six months old, seemed to be curious about everything and gave me cat punches at the Insta360 I was holding.

Judging from its fur and how dirty it is, it doesn’t appear to be a stray cat, but rather a cat kept by a local neighborhood.

There isn’t much traffic around here, so I guess the kitten is kept outside.

Until a few years ago, I also thought it was normal to let cats outside and let them roam between the inside and outside of the house.

However, since I currently live in an apartment in Chiba City, it seems difficult for the cat to get in and out.

Also, even if I live in a detached house, Chiba City has a lot of traffic, so I would be afraid to let my cat outside and let it roam in and out of the house.

Thinking about it that way, I felt that the cat might be happier if I lived in a safe place and let it go outside to roam in and out of the house.
