最近暑いですがいかがお過ごしでしょうか？
私は年を取ったせいと近年の日本の亜熱帯化で、夏の暑さが辛くなってきました。
そしてついついだらけてしまいますが、我が家の猫は元気そうです。
私の仕事している部屋は、暑いと仕事にならないのでいつも冷房を付けています。
そして自分だけ冷房ゾーンでは申し訳ないので、猫がいつでも入れるように扉の隙間を15ｃｍくらい開けています。
しかし暑い日でも秋が時々入ってくるくらいで、大や椛はほとんど入ってきません。
因みに冬は私の仕事部屋の電気ストーブが暖かいことを知っているので、大と椛は仕事部屋に入ってきます。
そう考えると冷房の効いた部屋に入りたいほど、大と椛は暑さを感じていないのかも知れませんね。
また秋は暑さ寒さに関係なく、扉が閉まっていても扉のレバーハンドルにぶら下がって、勝手に部屋に入ってきます。
しかしその秋でさえも10分程度で部屋の外に出て行きます。
なので秋も暑いから仕事部屋に入ってくる訳ではなさそうです。
そうすると出た結論としては、猫は冷房がなくてもそんなに問題なさそうです。
参考までに我が家はマンションの5階で風が良く通ります。
室温も30℃台にはなりますが、窓を開けていればそれ以上気温が上がることはなさそうです。

It’s been hot lately—how are you holding up? Personally, I’ve found summer increasingly tough, perhaps due to age and Japan’s recent shift toward a subtropical climate.
I’ve been feeling sluggish, but our cats seem to be doing just fine.
I always keep the air conditioner on in my home office, since it’s impossible to work in the heat.
To avoid hogging the cool air all to myself, I leave the door slightly ajar—about 15 cm—so the cats can come and go freely.
Still, even on hot days, only Aki occasionally comes in.
Dai and Momiji rarely enter the room.
Interestingly, in winter, both Dai and Momiji know the electric heater in my office is warm, so they come in more often.
Thinking about it, maybe Dai and Momiji don’t feel the heat enough to seek out the air-conditioned room.
Aki, on the other hand, doesn’t seem to care about temperature at all.
Even if the door is closed, she’ll hang from the lever handle and let herself in.
But even she only stays for about 10 minutes before heading back out.
So it seems Aki isn’t coming in because of the heat either.
In conclusion, our cats seem perfectly fine without air conditioning.
For reference, we live on the 5th floor of an apartment building with good airflow.
The room temperature does reach the 30s (Celsius), but as long as the windows are open, it doesn’t get much hotter than that.
